Niu Kani used larger coconuts than any other manufacture of coconut ukuleles. This particular Niu Kani was hand painted with a Hawaiian village scene on the front complete with a grass shack, hula dancer, and a native climbing a coconut tree. It is likely that ukuleles such as this where hand painted for the tourists in Waikiki
